In my humble opinion Paul of Tarsus ruined Christianity. He made the religion acceptable to the powers that be and thus destroyed it's message. Only in a book called "Romans" could Paul claim that everyone is to be subject to the authority of the world becuase it exists due to God romans13:1. This is exactly the opposite of what Jesus did and said. Jesus set himself up AGAINST the power of the Pharisees with their layer upon layer of religious laws and the Roman legal system. In place of which he sets up only internal perfection and love. Paul teaches a sort of blind faith(rom16:17,1cor 1:20 and elsewhere)where followers are asked to believe his dogma without asking questions. He says all you have to do is believe in Jesus and you will be saved, really Jesus taught by doing and living his life. Living this life as Jesus would, would be a threat to the authority. Pauls writings also mask a hatred of women and "sexual deviants" that is against the love that Jesus taught.
