    Odysseus represents the curiosity. Curiosity led he and his men to grief. Life could only be enjoyed by facing up to the dangers. Given a choice between a long obscure life, and a short glorious one, Achilles makes the Greek choice. When he faces execution, Socrates uses Achilles as an example of why he could not change his ways to avoid death.
