I think that it was logical to "Brehon law forbade the corporal punishment of the sons (and daughters) of kings. Any discipline to these children must leave no physical mark."

In fact any body imperfection was enough to erase all right to the kingdomship ! The eternal celtic attitude ti have a perfect body :)
