Maybe certain doorways in the maze can be guarded by mythical beings, and the answers that are given open the doors to the next level...or you can choose your guide.

Example:
enter, choose from Pegasus, a Centaur, or the talking head of Orpheus

Each one leads to a different set of questions.

The final question can be posed by the sphinx, and that will decide if you win or get tossed down the cliff (in the case of those who are answering the Centaur's questions)

The final question will be asked by the Gorgon Medusa (if pegasus is the guide)Win or be turned to stone

The final question by the ferocious dog of Hades, Cerberus (if Orpheus guides)win, or be (err, umm) chewed up? ugh

again, these are only my suggestions, use them any which way you like, or not, if you don't find them useful.
