In a cold cell in the dephts of female detention center's ward in Mcc Chicago Federal Prision an innocent woman awaits a miracle that would save her from the electric chair, she had never thought that a moment of weakness and wanting to earn a bit of easy money would lead her life into this kind of trouble, all this mess started when her boyfriend Ted had partaken in a brawl in the bar area of The Figaro Hotel, the demages had not being many but mobster Bruno Venetti was not an easy forgiving person, Bruno had asked her then coerce her into 'entretaining' big, fat Alderman Maroni, and at the bottom line he had choosen to get rid of the politician and let her carry with the guilt of his wrongdoing, all was clear to her now, Venetti had sent a bottle of poisoned wine with a guy disguised as a bell boy, he had been careful enough that not of his or his accomplice's fingerprints were on the bottle and the alleged bellboy had made sure that she checked the bottle touching it and so the only set of fingerprints in the bottle were the victim's and hers, perfect crime.
No matter how much she repeated it, all circumstancial evidence pointed at her, and when she started accusing Mr Venetti himself of the kidnapping of her boyfriend Ted he appeared dead by drowning near La Porte, Indiana, on the Indiana's side of Lake Michigan, by law Chicago police has no jurisdiction there, her only hope was the FBI, the had to find something weird in the corpse that would lead to the conclusion that the body had been planted on that spot, that alone may not be enough but it might help as reasonable doubt.
In her desperation Fanny had gotten news from outside, some reporter was investigating the case of the murdered Alderman Maroni, maybe a bit of attention from the media was what she need to make a stronger case on her defense.
