    You are right in that we shall never know what really happened. But even though I know there are no definite answers, its a mystery that continues to intrigue me all the same, and so I look at the various theories and speculation - yes, all the usual suspects. In the end I can believe which of them appeals to me the most *smiles*.

    Personally, I believe in the suicide theory, but there is more than one possible reason why Antinous might have decided to kill himself in such a time, place and manner, and perhaps it was a combination of any of those reasons, who knows indeed? But it doesn't stop some of us still wondering all the same. Historical facts, about which there is little more to say, have never intrigued me half as much as historical mysteries.
