...could be seen in the sky. Merenchepri and Mirjam were sitting on the roofterrace of Merenchepri's house, enjoying a brief moment of peace and calmth. The Priestess of Aset sighed and looked at her friend. "No news from Chahor yet?" Merenchepri putted down her bowl and looked up at the sky. "No, not yet. But he lives, I'm sure. And I know as well that we will hear soon from the business in the South. Ramesses will not let a vile troup of villains destroy Maat and bring Chaos into our nation." Mirjam smiled and raised her own bowl. "I'll drink to that."
Merenchepri sighed as she putted her head to rest. Ghada turned off all the lights that we're burning in the small lamps in the private quarters, and wished her mistress a good night as she closed the doors. Merenchepri stared at the ceiling, not able to sleep, kept by her own thoughts. My dearest husband...I never needed you as much as I need you now...I keep you in my prayers and can't wait until you're back...
It had taken the Priestess of Mut an hour to get herself to sleep. The whole staff of Ipet-isut was asleep and a silence had come over the complex. Merenchepri was dreaming a beautiful dream, but then she opened her eyes in fear, scared to death. A hand was placed over her mouth and a knife was putted to her neck. "Not a sound, Priestess, or you'll will not see the next dawn that Ra will bring..."
