The Hallowed Wood (RP)

    The Hallowed Wood is separate from the normal world. It, with other worlds, exists on a different plane. You can only enter, or exit it via hidden portals.
    Legend says the Gods built this place. It is predominately cedar; the tree of the Gods. Once, the place carried names such as Dilmun in some tongues and Eden in others. Some cataclysmic event happened, however and the Gods left this paradise. Their human slaves took over its care, learning magic and other wondrous things from what was left behind. But, no one could have foreseen the rise of evil within paradise.
    Demons came to power, enslaving man once again. They used monstrous beasts to do their bidding. These creatures served as their jailors, spies and warriors. The magic within the demons was powerful and they controlled even those who did not wish it. These humanoids (part human, part something else), used violence and black magic to gain and hold their power.
    As is always the case, however, a small faction of rebels live under the demons' radar. They live deep within caves and have cut out small cities for themselves. They still remember the magic of their forefathers and have retained some of the technologies. These people are awaiting the one who will bring them out of hiding, free them from the demons, and allow them to rule once again.
    Prophecy foretells of one who will bear a mark. This saviour will bring about a change in the land. There will be great strife and dying. But, in the end, peace and freedom shall be bestowed upon mankind once again.

This Roleplay is open to just about anyone. It's a cross between Harry Potter, meets Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time), meets Stargate SG1, meets Zecharia Sitchin. There are two other "saviour" roles open - one male, one female. There are openings for non-magical (techies) characters, as well as magical. Also, you could be a warrior or a politician. You can be good or you can be evil. Wherever your imagination takes you, we'll be there to play along.

    

As the story grows, so will the threads. Right now, we are focussing on "The Hallowed Wood", but that doesn't mean it's the only place within these hidden realms to write. Once things get going, we can expand.
