One of the weirdest scenes in the book is the one where Harry is together with Dumbledore and this foetus or what it is. Not sure if I got it right, but this seems to be the mangled remainder of Tom's soul.

I find this a very strange image for something ultimately wasted. An unborn or infant for sure has one thing that Tom definitely lost: innocence.

Giving Tom's soul the shape of a suffering infant, and then telling Harry to ignore the infant's wailing, is sure a very strange lesson in soullessness.

And by the way: There seems to be a different type setting and page numbering between the US and the UK version. My book definitely has 606 pages.
