I was a tad disappointed. Perhaps my expectations were a little too high. The ending was fine, but I thought it sagged in the middle. The information about the sword of Gryffindor could have been imparted in some way other than a very chance meeting in the middle of nowhere.
There were an awful lot of deaths of characters that have come to mean something to us. Dobby was tough, but Fred hit me the hardest. Both Lupin and Tonks was overkill; one of them should have been left.
Rowling has given us a lot of information in the last couple of days. It was Arthur Weasley who got the reprieve, but he was actually supposed to die in OOTP. More interestingly, she has said that she "probably will" write a character encyclopedia in a few years. She has a lot of detailed backstories and even some info about what happened post-DH.
Anyone care to speculate on why 19 years?
Also, Kallistos, they're only working on movie 6 (aiming for November of next year, very ambitious). We should have plenty of Harry-hype for another 3 or 4 years.
