    Contemporary author in Rome.

Member of the illustrious gens Furia with ties to that other patrician family of the Fabii, whose sons on both sides distinguished themselves in defending their patria from exterior perils and corruption, the author carries his names well, showing us through his new guide book to Rome how fiercely the ardour for the city burns in his soul.

He has spent many years travelling outside of Rome ; there is scarcely a province of the empire or a region of the barbaric world that his feet have not walked and his curiosity driven him to observe, study, record, reflect upon. Recently returned home, he began his opus in which an obvious appreciation of non-Roman cultures lends a sense of novelty and originality to his observations on our age-old landmarks.

He spends most of his time in Rome now where he has recently assumed responsibility for the family bank, situated in the Forum. Among his favourite pastimes are reading and entertaining family and friends according to the noble and divine arts of hospitality and conviviality.
