Belenus and his two companions, Cynfawr and Sennianus, were nearing An Caisel. The great wood, stone, and earthen fortress was bathed in the light of early dawn. Several of the other warriors had gone ahead and had made it their personal duty to make as much racket as possible; announcing the arrival of the Eadranai of King Barrivendos of the Iceni.
Belenus was atop a fine steed, provided by the stables for such an honored guest. His two bodyguard companions were on foot and carried with them a spear and large, ornate, rectangular shield.
They were much closer now. Belenus could see several warriors guarding the large gatehouse. As they reached the gate, a warrior cried out from the walls, "Hark! Be ye friend or foe?"
Belenus cried back, "Friend! I am a emissary for the High King of the Iceni Tribe of Llorges; I come with an offer of trade and friendship between our peoples!"
After a moments delay, the great wooden gates creaked open admitting the three men. Belenus saw a large assembly in the fortress grounds of An Caisel. There were three people at the head of a large group of warriors. One, an incredibly attractive woman (the Rian) seemed slightly ill at ease. The two others were both warriors but it was relatively obvious who was the chieftan; A relatively large man with fiery red hair and a large mustascio. After dismounting from his horse (a boy came up and took the reins and led the horse away), Belenus and his two bodyguards advanced towards the other three.
Belenus and his companions stopped 15 feet from the three at the head of the warband. Belenus once again called out - this time to the Niafer Warlord inspecting his warriors,
"Fáilte, Friends! I am Belenus of the Iceni - Eadránaí for the High King of my tribe, the great Barrivendos. I come as a friend - bearing gifts, and the offer of trade and friendship between our people!"
(OOC I didnt know what a celtic guard would say so I borrowed a bit from medieval literature)
