Across the Sea and to Inver Colpa...

Muir Éireann, or more commonly known as the Irish Sea, was calm this time of the year. The small sailing party under the command of one, Belenus of the Iceni, were making excellent time. They had brought with them supplies for a three-day sail from Ynys Mon to Inver Colpa, yet they were already within site of the Irish Coast after only two days of on-and-off sailing. The small crew of five were in good spirit, as well as the small honor guard that went with Belenus.

Belenus of the Iceni was a rather large man standing a head taller than most of his compatriates, who was also not overly muscular, nor outrageously skinny. He usually kept his auburn hair and beard clipped short, and always sported many of the woad tattoo's of the average celt warrior. That day he wore a pair of beautifully made trousers and boots - the trousers an odd brownish blue, and the boots a deep brown with silver embroidery in the wrappings that snaked their way up Belenus' calf. The long-sleeved shirt he wore was also finely made; blue with silver embroidery on the collar and sleeves. The cloak he wore was a splendid Woad blue, once again with silver emboridered in the design of stags on it. The brooch that fastened his cloak to his shoulder had a delicately carved silver stag, and was pure silver enlaid with gold around the edges. His belt was a fine red-coloured leather which also had an embroidered pouch on his right, and an incredibly beautiful (yet deadly) dagger in an equally beautiful sheath on his right. The torque that hung around his neck was exquisately made and judging from its appearance, was pure gold.

The image that he gave off was that of a rich, respected, and rather noble chieftan. In fact however, Belenus was only an Eadranai (an Ambassador) for his King, the King of the Iceni tribe and the most powerful man in Llorges and Cymru - Barrivendos. The banner that flew free and high from the single mast of the 'ship' was a Silver Stag on a field of blue - the emblem of the King of the Iceni. Belenus himself was a nephew of the King, and therefore very rich and powerful himself; but this didnt seem to matter much to Belenus. In fact he acted like a normal man and much unlike many others of his stature, was incredibly humble.

You see, for the longest time the Iceni had wanted to establish trade with the Irish - they were one in the same. Brothers, seperated only by the sea. It would be fitting to become friends, and so Barrivendos in his wisdom sent his nephew, Belenus, to meet one of the Irish tribes, the Niafer, and negotiate an Alliance. And so now, the thirty-year-old Belenus was on his way to meet with the Niafer to establish goodwill between themselves and the Iceni.

Belenus was at his favorite spot on the boat - at the prow of the ship, looking out over the picturesque Irish Coast. From somewhere behind him one of the sailors cried "There it is! The mouth of the river Boinne!". In a few hours the small party would land in a wealthy town known as Inver Colpa; the seat of Niafer power and wealth. Sure enough, they made it there in good time. The small craft floated with ease to the small docks of the Harbor as local Harborworkers clamoured to help tie down the vessel. Within twenty minutes, Belenus and his two bodyguards, Cynfawr, and Sennianus were ashore and advancing towards An Caisel, several heralds going ahead of them sounding trumpets and announcing, "Make way, here comes a messenger of King Barrivendos of the Iceni Tribe!"
