I got this from my library as an audio book. By John Kennedy Toole. This book is so funny. I have been listening to it on my way back and forth to work. Sometimes I think I will have to pull to the side of the road because I am laughing so hard. So I looked up information about the author - it is very sad. He killed himself. And his life was very short. Takes place in New Orleans. Of course a mother and her "adult" son. He has a Masters Degree, but can't hold a job. The characters are so well developed. The author tried to get the book published, but it was turned down and then finally published after he died. It is award winning. Has anyone else read this book? He has written another one too and I am going to see if the library has it. I have told all my friends about this. This book was ahead of it's time. And might have been rated RR in the late 60's.
