I agree that Avalon is wherever you believe it to be. Whether that is the same one the ancients thought of, who knows?
Tintagel may not be the birthplace of anyone who we might think of as a king, but it certainly was the birthplace of someone. It would still be great to go to these places just to take a look.

I think that it is interesting to note how high the hill is and how narrow of a plateau that sits on top. It is doubtful that it was used as a military stronghold or a settlement. It probably has always been used as a religious center.
