The helpful locals tell Caesar that the territory between him and Perge and Aspendus is far too broken and mountainous for cavalry. The only other way of getting back to Perge, apart from going through the enemy in front, would be to go deeper into Galatia and find another track which leads south west over the mountains from Amlada to Mulassa. Of course there might be enemies on that road too!
