Kamm and many other authors take a similar view in describing Caesar's relation with his daughter.
I was trying to find evidence of this in the ancient sources, other than the public feast JC gave when he was finally in power in Rome. Probably I overlooked it, but... is there any passage where the ancient sources actually say that JC loved his daughter tenderly?
The reason why I became interested in this is that I remember a modern author (even though I can't recall the name at this moment) maintaining that JC used his daughter as well as he used any other person in his life, the point being that everything in JC was calculated, with no space for feelings other than personal ambition.
