Thank you Gamma, for organizing this contest for us. I know organizing these things takes a lot of time and I also agree with Elena, Mauricius and Safiria that it was fun and that at times r/l can get in the way of doing the things on here that one might have been planning to do. Also congratulations to QuintusCinna Cocceius and Thea Didius with their prizes :D
What made me guess early in the contest, Sherlock Holmes style as you put it, was when I saw the message of Senex Caecilius about the process of elimination and that it was the reign of Hadrian, that one threw me off a bit because at first I thought it might have been Gallia Narbonensis, because Hadrian's successor was born there, but the date 129 CE didn't fit.
Then I started thinking about the date, 129 CE and that made me come to my well-educated guess of Gallia Lugdunensis, because in 129 CE Marcomir IV (King of the Franks in Gallia Lugdunensis) married Athildis, daughter of Coilus King of the Britains (saw that on the tellie the other day). Through this marriage the blood of the ancient Roman houses of the Julii and Claudii, as well as the ancient Royal lines of the Silures (a tribe in Britain), become mixed with the ancient Merovingian line (in Gaul). Coilus was the son of Marius, King of the British Silures and a daughter of Boadicia, the great Queen of the Iceni; Marius was the son of Arviragus, King of the Silures and Venissa, daughter of Claudius I, Emperor of Rome. This was the only significant event I could think of/find in that year somewhere in Gaul.
So I thought Gamma went to the wedding *G*
I do like the idea/suggestion of Thea Didius, to have an 'ongoing' hide and seek contest in AW, maybe get more worlds involved and like the triviagames, when you guess where it is you have to hide in the next province/city and give the clues.
Thank you again!! I'm going to hang the plaque on my wall now *G*
