    As for myself, I think that there is no questioning that the Vindolanda leaf tablets are an important archaeological treasure. Still, I think I would favour the Sutton Hoo finds as more important. Even if one discounts the sheer exquisitness of much of it, it seems to me that the Sutton Hoo treasure tells a bit more about life in ancient Britain than the Vindolanda leaf tablets do. Still, I suppose such judgements are ultimately somewhat subjective, so that not everyone is going to agree on what the most important treasure is.
