When I asked the question, I expressed surprise that the Sutton Hoo ship burial was not regarded as the most important archaeological treasure in Britain. Rather, that distinction may belong to the Vindolanda leaf tablets (understandably, perhaps, given that these sodden wooden leaves contain the earliest example of handwriting in Latin by a woman and a reference to the native tribes as Brittunculi, "wretched little Brits").
But another page of the BBC indicate that Sutton Hoo is considered the most important archaeological treasure.
Whichever--at least, it's not the Wetwang Chariot!
