    The question you raise about what is ancient is intriguing and well worth discussing. I find it interesting that "before the end of the Western Roman Empire" is one of the criteria. It fits well with Ancient Worlds and is probably what Celtia's cutoff date of 500 AD is based on, though I'm not sure.

    I would suggest that the "ancient" Celtic period begins around 800 BC (BCE), when archaeology shows the Celts emerging on the European scene as a distinct people.

    I'm also not sure where a discussion on what is considered ancient would take place. Probably not here, on the promotions thread, right? LOL
