Unfortunately time was too short to gather representatives from the other League Cities, but we are happy to relay any messages to them if you wish to avoid having to travel to each of them in turn. Alternatively, would you like us to see if we can obtain their permission to act as general spokesmen for the entire League, rather than just for Athens as we do at the moment?

In any event we trust these discussions will lead on to a Treaty bringing the present artificial state of war between Rome and the Pan-Hellenic League to an end. Indeed, we have no doubt that the League would agree with us in offering to conclude a Treaty here and now, recognising the independence of both Rome and the League, and re-establishing a formal Peace. ”
