I think Oscar winner Jack Palance would have made a wonderful Caesar. His hard, grizzled looks have enforced his "tough-guy" image in films. He would have portrayed Caesar as the unscrupulous thug and schemer Caesar really was.

Plus his troops would have loved following him!
