Hopefully if my publicity's enough, ya'll have seen that we've announcing a site-wide Best Places of AncientWorlds award for 2007. The last time - I'm shocked!! - we did this was in very late 2004, only a few months after the 'hoods feature was opened. I can't imagine how we overlooked it in 2005 and 2006, but since then, there have been tons of developmental features going on, and it seems a good time to make awards.
The focus for this time, though, has shifted; we're still looking at 'hoods that show creativity, history, interesting districts, etc., but a big part of winning the award is also that you have residents in the hood and that the hood heads or developers are doing something to build a sense of community in that hood. Talk about pinning down an intangible!
Anyway, signing up on the main contest thread (home page), here, or nominating by an email to me, should cover it. Note: A quirk of the contest is that the WORLD wins the gold, silver or gold medal, but the 'hood builder or 'hood head is also eligible to join the contest and, if a winner, gets a cash prize. But anyone who does NOT sign up nominating a hood in which they are intimately involved, isn't eligible, if that makes sense. In other words, I'd love to join the contest and feature one of my favorite hood cities, but it's no go if I didn't either build it or develop it.
If anyone has questions, just ask! - I suspect you'll get a few from your cives.
