Twice in this episode, Cleopatra is called “Queen of the Upper and Lower Kingdoms, She of the Sedge and Bee”. I got curious about the “sedge and bee” thing and went “googling” and “wikiing” on it. Here’s what I found, and thought would be interesting to share:
Ancient Egyptian royal titles included several “sections”. The names taken by the kings of Ancient Egypt symbolized power and holy might.
The pharaoh's throne name, the first of the two names written inside a cartouche, and usually accompanied the title nesu-bity, "King of Upper and Lower Egypt"; […] In older literature it is often stated that nesu-bity literally means "He of the Sedge and Bee". It is now thought that the two words are related to other Afro-Asiatic words (in particular, Berber languages) meaning "strong man", "ruler", and the like.
Quoted from “Ancient Egyptian royal titulary”, Wikipedia.
