Dear Mrs. Bunns,
My beloved William's long torment is over. His funeral was a quiet affair. I must thank you for looking after the house while I have been gone these past months. Would you please arrange for someone to meet Helen and I at the station? We shall be arriving on the evening train, 29 January. We have all our trunks and things, so perhaps a wagon would be best.
Once things are aired out, and we are settled in, I shall have a small tea for all my dear friends in Drakesheath. The wreath you sent for William's funeral was very nice. Thank you for all the kindness you have shown me.
Your friend,
Mrs. Lizabet Blatand
