    I tend to agree with Demetrius and Calpurnia.

    We have the distinct advantage of knowing how things would turn out....an advantage that Octavian didn't have. Octavian being chosen as Caesar's heir caught most off guard and his legitimacy was often times questioned especially in these early years.

    The murder of Caesar gave Octavian the perfect opportunity to avenge his uncle's death, win the support of the people AND to eliminate his enemies.

    Octavian was never one to let an opportunity like this pass.
