As we make our way through the hall and out into the darkness, I am thankful that the bag I carry has some supplies to treat wounds. Not that I want to tend Santorix, but we do not need him to die on us just yet.
Una and Drystan have prepared horses for us and I thank them. I would like to take the time to admire the beautiful one that has been presented to me, but there is no time at the present for such a luxury. After mounting up, I turn to Drystan before we depart.
"Drystan, I am counting on you and the others to do what you can to keep order while we are away. If possible, send word to us in a couple of days, so that we may decide when it will be best to return. You may trust the Roman, Titus Claudius. He is a smart man and will assist you as a necessary liaison with the other Romans. The gods' blessings be upon you. Take care."
With that, we four women, led by Flidhais, head in the direction of the sea. I can sense the coming dawn and a new day will soon be upon us.
