    Greetings to you all,

Somehow I did type the URL and jumped in my seat when it actually did go somewhere. So wonderful to be back again, and to see some familiar names as well.

    About footwashing:
I don't know from who the Romans got the tradition of the host washing the feet of the guests, because they weren't the ones inventing the soap :) It is said that one of the new things together with the knowledge of road building the Celts brought with them from the east (learnt from the Chinese probably) was the soap. It implicates that the Celtic people did come from the east, but somehow I do find it rather peculiar that they suddenly appeared in area which used to be Yugoslavia (I don't know the exact area right now so I have to generalize a bit). Reading Roman sources would indicate that the Celts were some sort of barbarians, but then they did a bad job separating the Germans and the Celts (the first being dominated by the Celts for quite some time) :)

I don't know if this already have been discussed but ...

I've found myself annoyed at the definition of druids in different roleplaying games because they've gone by the popular definitions and not those based on existing sources. A simple definition of the druids in my opinion would be - A person with knowledge. The Romans were very eager to define the druids as something mysterious and unnatural, and the reason was basically because they were the people with the knowledge about history, healing, music, law and so on. With them gone the Celts would loose some of their morale.

What I would be interested in would be to come up with a definition that in a more correct way will give a picture of the druids and who they were. It can't be totally correct, but maybe closer to the truth.
