It is, I know only too well, a hard road to take, but sooner or later we must all stop staring down that untested path and experience it, come what may.
Be sure that it brings relief, even a sense of liberty, but yet still at every turn I long for it to one day lead me back to the home I have lost.
*I use the plural as this is prompted by Kimball's departure but is also dedicated to Katrin who left at a time when I was too preoccupied to think such melancholy thoughts.
ps: Thanks for the Augustus parallel, very flattering indeed. I suppose then if we must cut out all the crap emperors in the middle, this makes Andrew Vespasian, or would Claudius be more apt? ;)
pps. Andrew, do not overly concern yourself with my closing Imperium. Why would I do that? I can see that it is healthy and has a core of active and enthusiastic players as well as an excellent umpire. It could do with a few more players, yes, but then that has been the case at several occasions in Imperium's life and the days of 10 players or less (active mind you!) are often more fruitful game-wise than those when we had over 20.
