Internetavisen Jyllands-Posten has the article Possible third Jellinge stone found on the find of a new runic stone engraved with ancient Danish rune writing. Danish archaeologists think that the new rune stone can be the third Jelling stone. Anyhow, the new runic stone is an important find.
The two Jelling stones are carved runic stones from the 10th century found at Jelling north of Vejle in Jylland (Jutland), Denmark. The older stone was raised by King Gorm the Old, who was the first King of Denmark, in memory of his wife Queen Thyra. The younger and larger one was raised by their son Harald Bluetooth. The carved runes tells about the Harald Bluetooth's conquest of Denmark and Norway, and the conversion of the danes to Christianiity. These rune stones clearly identifies Denmark as a nation or a kingdom.
