Aya has made a new picture for us to use in our welcome messages. It's of course, of our mascots, Gil and Humbaba. :D Here is the new message, complete with the new Scribal names:
Please meet your hosts in Mesopotamia, Gilgamesh and Humbaba. They'll be taking you on a whirlwind tour of our great land. Explore our great land with them and let them help you find your way around. Ready? Hold on to your seat and have fun!

"We have been given the great honor of showing you around our wondrous world. Gil and I will do our utmost to show you the best places Mesopotamia has to offer. It is a land rich in history," Gilgamesh cuts in, "And Kash, Humbaba, don't forget about the Kash!". A long-suffering sigh escapes Humbaba, "Yes, we have Kash, an ancient Mesopotamian beer, here as well. Shall we proceed with our tour?"
Humbaba leads the way to the first stops. "This part of our tour takes us to the places that would interest newcomers most. You can go to New? Introduce Yourself Here! and tell us a little about yourself, or how you became involved in ancient Mesopotamian history. We do so love our history here." Gilgamesh pops up from his snooze and says excitedly, "We also love Kash! Be sure to stop by The Kash Bowl for some informal roleplay with a great bunch of people!" Humbaba lifts himself up and brushes off his fur. "Yes, quite right Gil. Would you mind not tossing me about the next time you have something to add? Thanks. Now, back to the tour. You can read our very own newspaper, the Babylon Beat. Be sure to also visit our Library.
"Shall we stop for refreshments before continuing? One of Gil's women was kind enough to set out this fruit basket. Please, help yourself!" Gil sighs happily. "You'll be happy to know, Humbaba, that history shows I do love women!" Humbaba snorts and pops a grape into his mouth.
"Ahhhh! Now that's what I call service!" Gil says as he reclines back and puts his hands behind his head. Humbaba rises, knocks Gil's feet off of the antique coffee table and says, "I believe it's time to move on. First, I'd like to inform you, however, that if ever you need assistance, the Mesopotamian Scribes:
Apiladey ApilSin,
Ashurbanipal Assurbanipal,
Xena ApilSin
or any of the deities, particularly Mesopotamia's own
jojo Nebuchadnezzar and
Cornellia Cornelius are there to help.
"The last stop on our whirlwind tour are the Mesopotamian Neighborhoods. Gil, like the locals, shortens the name to just "'hoods". We currently have eight of them for your enjoyment. There are different levels to each Neighborhood. Please feel free to explore the different levels of these 'hoods. For your ease, we have compiled a list of the eight "Regions" for you to begin your journey:"

"And that concludes our tour for today. Thank you so much for coming along. Please, be sure to throw away all your trash in the designated areas and collect all of your souvenirs. Don't forget your jackets!" Gil pipes in, "Uhmmm, Humbaba, what about the ACTA?" Humbaba pauses in his directions and says smoothly, "Oh yes, and as you leave, don't forget to pick up the latest in Ancient Worlds news! The ACTA DIURNA is free, so please take one!" |
