    ...sword is an Edo era wakizashi from Japan. Although it could have been used in ritual suicide, it's primarily a side arm of sorts for fuedal samurai. It was always worn. The interesting thing about that image was the view of the craftsmanship that it represented from the time. You could see the shark skin of the handle and the decoration of the saya, the scabbard.
