    I'm getting lost.
Were these omens taken "privately" by and/or for Caesar himself or were those omens taken for the Senate meeting?
In Plutarch, Appian and Cassius Dio (thanks Silvia!) it seems to me that omens were taken independently of the Senate meeting, as the three of them agree that he still had to get out of the house and he intended to dismiss the Senate, before his "good friend" Decimus convinced him otherwise.

Now, that's a data I'm missing but I'd really like to be told: among the four ancient sources cited by Silvia, what is their reliability order? Who's the most reliable and who's the least?

Also, I've got another question about the famous note passed to Caesar (Plutarch says by Artemidoro -I don't know how you call him in English - if I'm not wrong). I heard in a documentary that, according to ancient sources, the same note was found in Caesar's hand during the autopsy. But it wasn't in Plutarch, and I couldn't find it in Suetonius (even if I didn't go through all C.'s life to check). Can anyone tell me where such a thing is said?
BTW, it seems that another "first time in history" held by Caesar is to have the first-ever recorded autopsy.
