My name is Titus and I have been a MacAholic for some 3 years, 2 months and 29 days. *G* I've also been a computer hobbyist for a total of 17 years. I started out with Window based PCs at first and only moved up to a Mac about 3 years ago. I find the Mac superior to PCs in every way. The hardware is very dependable and access to the various components inside the case is user friendly.
My first Mac was a PowerPC MacIntosh 8600/300 that I bought from a computer salvage store. I just wanted to try out a Mac and see what it was like. The classic 8.1 OS on it looked somewhat basic so I upgraded to 9.2. After learning about the classic OSs I went back to the store for a newer more advanced model. This time I purchased a G4 sawtooth. It also had 9.2 on it. So I broken down and bought Tiger OS 10.4 not long ago and I've been driving a Mac ever since. As they say once you go Mac you'll never go back.
I think I now have a fairly good knowledge of the older PowerPC models and the G4s as far as the hardware goes. I also feel comfortable with all of the classic operating systems and have a good knowledge of the OS X series as well. I'm no expert by any means, but I can offer my help to those who are new to Mac. I hope to be a useful member for the group.
Ciao,
Titus
