I really like the point made by Demetrios. And actually, for what I remember, no sacrifice was held by Caesar in arriving at the meeting place in the Pompey Curia. He's said to sit down and starting reading and writing letters or documents as he had a stylo in his hand with which he stabbed his first assailant. So he was waiting for the meeting to actually start.
The original curia was being reconstructed after burning down during Clodio's funeral. In the mean time, the Senate would meet in Pompey's curia.
Now the point would become whether this curia was actually a sacred place or not!
It was in the same complex of Pompey's theater, which he could construct passing it as part of the temple to Venus Victrix. But the curia was not part of the temple, although it was part of the same complex. But was it sacred?
BTW, Demetrios, I loved the comparison between the "do not transpass the pomerium in arms" and the "do not go over 55 mph" laws violation! *LOL*
