Well, if I remember correctly he was the editor of Cicero and a merchant, so it makes sense he would try to keep good relationships with everybody.
I always found it rather interesting that the best friend of Cicero would also be the one telling him that Caesar was ok and that he kind of liked Caesar. I remember Cicero doing some remarks about it, althoug I don't remember them properly. Do you remember any?
