I know, this last post has been here for long, but it seems today is my day for writing about precepts...
The 3rd precept, to refrain from sexual activity, is taken as a vow by lay people on certain days or occasions... not all the time! Lay people can have a married, "normal" life and be Buddhists!
Let me add that the Buddha did not specifically define the term "sexual misconduct"
What we can say, is that he did stress the importance of "above all, do no harm to others or to oneself".
