we sit quietly around the fire, as Verica and Dobhar begin questioning the captive. The captive offers obeisance to Verica, but sneers at Dobhar, who tenses, but otherwise doesn't react.
Verica talks softly with the captive, so that it is hard to hear what is said. The last words, though, are just loud enough to hear, and are enough to make Dobhar tense, and half rise.
He'll take us to his King so that Verica can be rightfully wed? I get ready to move quickly if Dobhar desides to strike out at the man. What a shock, not just for him, but for Verica too, from the expression on her face. There is a tense silence around the fire, as we all await Verica's reply.
