    Six or seven times consul? He certainly took office seven times, but on the last occasion, according to Plutarch, he began his term by having Sextus Lucinus hurled off the Tarpeian rock, after which he lapsed into dithering and depression. He died on 13 January, having spent the previous seven days in bed in a drunken stupor. His term was completed by Lucius Valerius Flaccus.
