Nearby Sun Temple of Niuserre I have moved into the capital of 13th nome of the Prospering Sceptre, Iunu, Egypt. I invite you to join me… We are only a short boat ride from Alexandria, in an area of ancient temples and lush green land.
Some Questions:
"What's so special about Iunu?"
Iunu was the third largest and most important city in ancient Egypt, after Thebes and Memphis. It is covered by the modern city of Cairo.
The prevalence of Solar cults in the area led to the building of the world’s first obelisk at nearby Abu Ghorab by Fifth Dynasty King Niuserre Iny.
Heliopolis, as the Greeks later called Iunu, was the home of one of the world’s oldest creation myths, featuring the nine gods of the Ennead who created the universe by various acts. It was a center of commerce, learning and culture for millennia.
"What would you like to do and see in the hood?"
I’d like to see social interaction, learning, and fun! I’d like to see our chat rooms used more so we can get to know one another.
I welcome anyone with an open spirit. Please join me in Iunu, Egypt!
