Limerick writing:
A humorous verse of five lines, in which the first and second lines rhyme with the fifth line, and the shorter third line rhymes with the shorter fourth.
Limericks are easy, once you get the hang of them. Using an 8-8-5-5-8 syllable, or 9-9-5-5-9 syllable guide can make it easier. The 9s (or 8s) rhyme, and the 5's would rhyme. Or you can try 8's and 7's, or any combination thereof, as long as the 4th and 5th lines are shorter than the first two, as follows-
Player 1 posts -- A lovely young bud, TitiFawn
Next Player posts-- Turned away when I flexed my brawn
Next Player posts-- As she bent for a flower
Next Player posts-- I erected a tower
Next Player posts-- Then beheld the first crack of Dawn.
That player then gets another turn, and opens the next verse by posting the first line--
It shimmered all covered in dew,
and so on. Your line of verse should be the post title. Any other meanderings you wish to post within the body of the message are welcome, but entries must all follow the pattern of the post title. If you want to post nothing in the message body, and just enter your line of limerick, that's fine. You can always write nt or n/t after your line, to show readers there's nothing more to read.
