Hibernicus was past angry. Arrgh, he thought, don't these people ever give up?
The new year was not far away, and he was STILL at Epirus!
Hibernicus issued orders:
1) We now will put our formation in Offense: Besiege. We are going to take this city, but it'll be a bit of a wait. I'm not going to make the same mistake twice. Scouts are to be on patrol for a fifteen mile radius in case there are still any forces out there who may try to help these idiots lift our siege.
2) How are those siege towers coming along? How many do we have? Also, what are our artillery capabilities?
3) Whatever happened to the auspices for taking the city? Arrgh, we could have this over in a month but evidently it takes two in order to get anything done here!
4) Send a letter to Commander Pompeius:
Sir,
Despite seeing their king, as well as the dead body of their rebel leader, the city of Nicopolis refuses to lift its siege. I know, with only three thousand men defending it, it shouldn't be a problem to take. However, the fortifications of the city would make it harder for us. We have two legions here plus the cohorts of Legio XV, and I could call on both Classis I and II to conduct an amphibious assault as well. However, call me cautious, but I do not know if we would still have enough men to take the city.
Would it be possible, once you have finished operations in your area, to march down to Nicopolis with some of your men so that we can take the city together? I realise that this is much to ask, but I have already failed to take this city once, and I'm not going to make the same mistake twice. I need more men down here.
Also, I've tried to have auspices taken, but haven't heard anything yet. We need to have a fortutious decision, although moments like that seem to be avoiding me at this moment.
I wait for your answer.
PCH.
5) By the way, where is the water supply for Nicopolis located? Find it, see if it's fortified, and then, if it's possible for us to gain control of it, cut off its water supply! This may be a way for us to have the people in the city dying of thirst within a few days, so I want to see if we can get control of it!
Arrrgh! Is there any way I can take this city?! Will the gods favour me?
