Andreasta's fine idea for Hadrian's wall got me thinking - I'd love to be able to be in a story revolving about the Romano-Celtic community at Bath. Of course, that's just because I don't have the soldierly expertise to be on Hadrian's Wall.

In any event, for a non-RP person like me, several of these ideas sound great!
