"As I was trying to say before I was so rudely interrupted: I have an idea about somebody who can help with this whole Herkanubis thing." The Professor scanned the company. "Just a quick trip and I'll be right back.
The doors of the TARSID closed, the weird sci fi music played, the TARSID disappeared in a flash of light and a grinding whine of mechanical motors.
With a loud BOOM the TARSID reappeared a split second later. The assorted tourists and company scattered looking for shelter, but not all of them made it.
"Looks like it got Laurels this time." Maria shook her head. "She's not gonna be happy about this."
Laurels materialized a split second later. "Sand!!! I've been squished into the SAND."
"Here—take my can of hairspray," Maria said.
Just then the doors of the TARSID opened and the Professor emerged followed by a blonde with hair piled high on her head. She wore a lovely red velour miniskirt outfit and hot disco boots.
Decius looked at her with deep interest. "Hope that red shirt doesn't mean what it usually means."
The blonde frowned him down. "The Professor has asked me to assist you with the latest Star Fleet anti-potion medication. Don't let the red shirt fool you. I'm medical now, not ops or away team."
"Oh. Okay." Decius smiled. "It would be a shame it anything happened to you."
The blonde extended a hand. "Janice Rand here." She pulled out a piece of odd equipment and whipped out a tripod. "Let me just set up this tri-corder now."
More flashing lights and weird music ensued. With a buzzing flash, a vial of glowing purple liquid materialized and landed in Janice's hand. "Improved replicator circuitry. It’s a nice little portable model."
She walked over to Herkanubis and poured the purple liquid into the deity bowl. "Here, drink this. It ought to work and transform you back to your deityness."
Herkanubis took an experimental lick of the viscous liquid. Nothing happened. With the jackal equivalent of a shrug, Herkanubis sucked down the remaining antidote. Suddenly the jackal form stiffened then began to shake.
"Oh look!! It's working." Diantha took off her green shades to view the transmogrification better.
"Wait. Something's wrong." Cmell came running. "The jackal god body isn't disappearing!!"
"Yes but we've got Heraklia's head back. At least she can talk now." Laurels looked at the newcomer. "Can you give her some more of that purple stuff?"
Janice sighed. "I'll have to start from scratch and make a new batch."
