Colin had disappeared into the woods and the lodge still loomed beyond my eyes. Resolving to go, I begin down the trail, breath cold before my eyes creating a feeling of isolation. I glance over my shoulder to look for his outline but nothing, when I turn back I am met with a tree branch to the face.
Colin follows the footsteps through the snow. He is cautious to keep pace enough to not be notice, but not to give enough distance to lose the felon completely. As he walked across the ridge of the north hill, he was angered to see the footsteps stop, and treads begin. Snowmobile. He throws down his ski poles in anger and looks to the lodge. He should meet Kat- tell her the details of the situation.
Lay flat on her back looking up at the snow and the clouds that covered the sky. "We meet again, K. And this time you're in the best position for it...” Sitting up, I am faced with the smug grin of her assailant, "The only position you ever see me from is your knees, Mac."
Colin enters the lodge, removing his skis in a hurry through the door that they had recently exited. He walks to the ballroom, standing in the arched doorway. His eyes search the crowd for Kat but she is not there. His eyes widen, but he doesn't give up yet- he could have just missed her in the crowd.
He watches me with those beady little eyes assessing how much time he is giving my companion to notice my absence. "Where is he headed?” "You tell me. You know everything." My smile is meet with another slap. I meet his eyes and then begin to laugh. "Bring her along boys. I am going to teach this one respect." I struggle against his goons but three to one is hardly fair. "Never could get your hands dirty could you, Mac? Never man enough to handle your woman."
Colin makes his way across the room, finding Freyja across the room. "Pardon me," Colin says, breathless, approaching her. "I am looking for Miss Katlyne, have you seen her?" "Not for a half hour at least, why?" she asks in low tones. Colin doesn't reply- only turns, running at top speed out of the large ballroom and back into the woods.
I fight them as long as I can, dragging my feet and making it clear that there was a struggle. My skies are tossed off into the underbrush where they might go unnoticed. "Don’t think your American is going to save you now, K. This has been a long time coming." I laugh, "If you think I need saving you haven’t been paying attention."
Colin runs into the woods, stopping only long enough to reattach the skis. He tries to think of the path that she would have most likely taken. He turned left- they were located there- 1 mile or so.
"Boys... show her the stars. She's giving me a headache." I grin, "Oh... you never could handle more than two thoughts at time, could you baby?" There's a strong hold at my neck and then nothing.
Judging by the marks in the snow, he can tell there was a struggle. He frowns at the fact that they didn't cover their tracks. Not to make the same mistake twice that night, he draws his gun, taking off at full pace the direction of the tracks. He only had one law on his mind: shoot first; ask questions later...
