Signup will run from now until April 16th.
Playing Guidelines & Rules:
Two teams, three to five players each, including a Team Captain. (both teams will have the same amount of players) - prior to the beginning of the game, each team is to advise the referee who their Team Captain is and in what order the players will be playing.
The Field is split into two zones, the "endzone" and the "playing zone". It will take one point for any team players to move from the endzone into the playing zone. While the players are trying to move from the endzone to the playing zone, they will not accumulate negative points nor will their one point to enter the playing zone contribute to the team total. Only points accumulated while a team player is in the playing zone will impact the team total either positively or negatively.
The point questions will be divided into body parts, each of which will center upon a certain city of AW (ie head = Americas trivia). Most questions will be worth 1 point, however, there will occasionally be questions worth 2 points that will be trivia on the AW city itself. If a player answers a point question correctly, they receive 1 positive point for their team, if answered incorrectly, 1 negative point for their team (unless the player is in the endzone as mentioned above). Any team player can challenge an opposing team player with a Challenge Question. If the challenged team player answers the question correctly, they will receive 5 points for their team and the team player that initiated the challenge will lose 5 team points. If the question is answered incorrectly then the challenged team player will lose 5 points and the team player that intiated the challenge will win 5 team points. A team player that is challenged can refuse the challenge.
The choice of which team starts the game will be decided via a "coin toss" - both Team Captains will be given the same question to answer and whichever answers first gets the ball.
Passing of the ball is allowed, however, there can be no more than two consecutive passes for any team and if a player passes the ball three times, they are out of the game.
A team wins the game by either accumulating a pre-specified number of points or by getting the ball through the ring by answering a Ring Question correctly. If neither team has the requisite points when the game limit is reached, it will be declared a stalemate.
Ring Questions can win or lose the game. Only Team Captains can request ring questions and the team requesting must have had the ball in play for at least five turns and have at least two players in the playing zone. For the requesting team, only the Team Captain can answer the question, however, the opposing team can (prior to the question being asked) appoint a guard to answer for their team. Answers to the Ring Questions must be IM'd directly to the Referee. If the requesting team answers the Ring Question incorrectly, the opposing team wins. If the requesting team answers the Ring Question correctly, the opposing team will have the opportunity to answer the question as well. If the opposing team then gets the question right, the game would continue, if they opposing team gets the question wrong, the requesting team would win the game.
The winning team will receive plaques they can display at their homes, bragging rights over the losing team, a life-long supply of Blue Macaws and the clothes of the spectators. [note to spectators: be prepared to get naked!]
