Found in the Northern territory of Australia, the Garnawala rock shelter dates to 5000-4000 BCE. The rock shelter was used by family groups mainly during the wet/rainy season. The cave was large enough for daily activities and for sleeping quarters. The walls of the rock shelter are decorated with both animal representations as well as with paintings of ancestors from the family groups' past.
