At Castra Tecmon, Lupus was now overseeing the training of not only the 500 men from Legio VI, but also the numerous Epirans who answered the calling - training, disciplining and organising them into a proper unit fit to be called an ally Legio.
Daily now, Lupus also met with the Epiran Commander who now developed a good friendship, and the two passed on information back and forth on the goings here in Epirus as well as how things were happening elsewhere in the Roman Republic.
Lupus writes the following letter.
To D.Junius Pompeius - Senior Army Commander, Dodona From Q. Manlius Lupus - Tribunus Prolegato, Legio VI (Tecmon/Dodona)
Most Excellent Commander.
I am quite pleased with the organising and training of the Epiran allies. The ones here at Tecmon are, although at first a bit disorganised, are forming into well trained and disciplined men. Tecmon here is well, and the men daily assist the Epirans in this small village with small building and training. I have also had a few men request to take Epiran wives, and I have assented.
I wish to know what your orders are, now that 5,000 Epirans have joined with us. I will be sending with this letter a report on the theatre as well as recommendations. As always, I submit my recommendations to you for your review.
In Service,
Q. Manlius Lupus - T. Prolegato - Legio VI
