Our other members may not realize that a half dozen of us got caught up in a whirlwind about early January, when an idea of Theo's picked up and ran us all to tomorrow, opening day for The Ides of March MMVI (the original "Saving Caesar" game - well, we had to change the name. Let's face it, just like in history, a whole lotta people would as soon kill Caesar as save him).

I have had a peripheral role in this, but I have seen the two zillion emails and talked to those who were central. Just a small place to make humble thanks to those who've worked so hard!

First, Theodorius Cicero, for having the idea, chairing the group, following up on all the emails, and providing great leadership.

Then there is Tobius Tullius, who has spent the gods know how many hours doing clue cards, veritas cards, Caesar cards, and innumerable graphics of every kind and scope for the past 6 weeks.

What can I say about Titus Longinus, who has been one of our most active helpers, doing whatever needed doing?

We all bow down to Laurels Curius, who took 50 graphics, 7 quizzes, and a hundred emails, and boiled them down into the actual working web pages of the game (in spite of having an ACTA up and coming and many other obligations).

My own personal hugs go especially to ADI's own Calpurnia Caesar, who from the git-go not only worked out all the weird problems of creating a game by committee, but drew on everyone for those wonderful quizzes and had her helpful and smiling face everywhere we went these past two months with leadership and tact ;) I should point out, Cal, that I haven't got more than 80% yet on any one quiz, so I still obviously have much to learn about Caesar!

And to ADI's Pectinarius Antonius, who also provided counsel and suggestions and came up with about LXX questions for the seven quizzes!

This feels like the Academy Awards - ye gods, have I left anyone out? But I'm bursting with pride that ADI has sponsored this and that both ADI and Roman talent has built it. I encourage everyone to play the game, beginning tomorrow evening until midnight on the Ides of March.

Caesar would have been, I think, pleased to know how he fascinates us so many aeons away in time ;)
